A Day with Friends

Francois and Ryan

We arrived in Waterloo around 11:00 am and hit the library first.  We really enjoy going to libraries to hang out and spend some educational time together.  David and I enjoyed reading some books together, Natalie found a few new authors while Andrea and Tanya played some checkers.  After the library we went to Waterloo park for lunch.  While I was preparing food, Tanya and the kids went onto the ballfield to play softball.  It was a beautiful park with lots of different things to do.

Around 2:00 pm we arrived at the Hickey residence and were greeted by Heather and the kids and Ryan arrived home shortly afterwards.  Rowan and Merrin quickly invited the kids into their play areas and they were off doing their own thing.  That gave us a great chance to catch up on what has been going on during our trip and their summer.  They are such great friends whom we really enjoy spending time with.

Andrea, Merrin and Natalie
They took us to their community pool later in the afternoon where we had a great time swimming.  We played lots of games in the water and the kids showed us all their best swim moves.  After swimming we headed back to their house and were treated to a lovely supper of fresh vegetables and meats which they purchased at the market.  It was delicious.

After supper we said our goodbyes, loaded up the van and made our way to my brother Michel, his wife Jen and their son Justin's place.  The kids were very excited to arrive and kept asking how much longer until we arrive.  When we arrived in the front of the house, Justin was standing on the front step ready to greet us.  We got in and unloaded some of our stuff as we will be staying here for a week or so.

My father was also here when we arrived as he is in town for a Tai Chi conference.  We spent the evening sharing highlights from our trip and hearing what has been going on with them thus far this summer.  We are looking forward to spending a great week with the Stouffville Carons.

See you tomorrow.
Francois
