Stouffville Sunshine

The kids were up early this morning despite going to be so late last night.  David opened our door at 6:45 and asked if it was okay to go downstairs - I groaned and pulled the pillow over my head - it was too early for me.  Francois headed down with them - Justin and the kids were anxious to begin their first day of playing together.  After getting them all organized Francois headed out for a 5 km run and I should have gotten out of bed and joined him too because at the end of a glorious day I had too many excuses as to why I couldn't get out for a run!

We had a lazy morning as the kids played a multitude of games including road hockey.  David has been missing playing this sport since we left PEI and often said it was the one thing he missed the most from home.  Justin had all the gear for the goalie and even put on his Vancouver Canuck jersey for the road hockey game.

Afterwards we headed down to the park and splash pad, where Justin showed the girls how to maneuver their way to the top of the monkey bars.  After trying many times and scaring me on many occasions there were proud of their accomplishment when they reached the top of the monkey bars without anyone helping them.

The Caron men threw the football back and forth to one another.  Of course Francois was up to his usual antics of catching the football behind his back and trying to kick it off his foot and into his hand.  I told him it reminded me of those days when I first met him and thought he was cocky and a showoff.  Oh the good old days.

Grandpapa and some of the grandkids
After a late lunch we headed to the library where Natalie could stock up on books during the duration of our stay in Stouffville.  I think Justin was surprise with the large amount of books in Natalie's arms - she really likes to read.  Andrea and David even found some books they could read during their visit.  No book sales at this library, but we may head to Value Village as I was told they had a good selection of children's chapter books for cheap prices.

Special buds Auntie Jen and Andrea
Jennifer went to Andrea's salon and was treated to the two braids and lots of pony tails in her hair.  I am getting jealous as I don't get a lot of the special hair treatment when there are other woman with long hair around.

Michel and Tanya
Jennifer prepared a delicious meal - hamburgers, corn, potatoes - so yummy.  She prepared sliders for the kids - mini burgers - which the kids really liked!  Of course there was homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert - sinfully delicious. After supper we had a great visit with Michel, Jennifer and Real, who is on his way to a Tai Chi convention at the start of next week.  It is great that the kids can go off to play  by themselves and we can enjoy adult conversation.

Andrea and Puddy
To finish off the night David put on the goalie gear and there was another road hockey game.  Michel and Justin against Francois, Natalie and Andrea.  Grandpapa (Real) was the fantastic fan watching and cheering on the game.   Later Jennifer got Andrea to take Puddy, their little dog, for a walk to the mailbox.  She really loves Puddy - he is smaller than she is and does not jump up or bark.  This morning we could see her making her way closer to Puddy and then suddenly she was petting him all by herself.  She has certainly come along way this summer in her fear of animals.
The road hokey game

Now the kids are all in bed and hopefully they will be asleep before long.  Tomorrow is suppose to be another warm, sunny day and we may head to an outdoor pool for the afternoon.  Who knows what else we will do, but I am sure we will have lots of fun spending it with our family.

Take Care
Tanya
