Just Hanging Out

David passes to Grandpapa

Tanya and I went out for a run before the heat of the day hit its fullest.  It felt great to get out and get the heart beating a little faster and enjoy the quietness of the community on foot.  Once we got back from our run the kids were up and waiting for some breakfast.  We got their breakfast and then Justin and David were itching to get out and play hockey so outside we went.  Just before we got started though, I took David to Canadian Tire to get a left handed stick since everyone here shoots right.

Midway through the game, the girls came out and were heading for a walk.  Andrea and Natalie both wanted to hold Puddy's leash as he was going with them on their walk.  They compromised and one held it on the way there and the other held it on the way back.  While they were gone we were busily playing hockey and after a while Grandpapa got off the chair and decided to join us playing.  The grandkids really enjoyed that.

Just before lunch, Jennifer, Tanya and Andrea decided to go out and do a bit of shopping at Michael's and Costco.  Natalie decided to stay and play some hockey with us.  We then ate some lunch and then afterwards the kids played hide and seek while I sat out back with a book.  I can't remember the last time I've done that but it was certainly enjoyable.  I think I may have started to nod off a bit until Tanya came out to see what I was doing.

Justin leaps to catch the ring... he did catch it
Mid afternoon we jumped in the car and headed to Jennifer's friends house where they have a big backyard pool.  We spent a good couple of hours there swimming, floating around on the inflatables and doing a bunch of water games.  The kids had a great time diving for rings, jumping off the deck and trying to catch some balls before they hit the water, and playing pirate games.  We left there just before 6:00 pm and headed back to the house for supper.  Another lovely supper prepared by Jennifer was enjoyed by all.

Natalie lounging around
We played around a bit after supper and then we got the kids to bed a little earlier than normal as Justin has a ball game tomorrow morning.  Natalie didn't mind going to bed earlier as it gave her a chance to read some more of her stack of books.  She got 30 books from the library yesterday and she told Michel that she only have six more to read.

Another great day with lots of laughs and time spent together.  We are lucky to have such wonderful family who are making us feel at home.

Tanya loved her poolside seat
Later,
