Another Day in California

It was another beautiful day in California - certainly not the hot weather I was expecting, but it is comfortable.  We have been told many times that this summer has been unseasonal in terms of weather - it has been a lot cooler.

Tanya and Lisa
We spent the morning with my friend, Lisa, who is originally from PEI, and her son Anthony dropped by for a visit.  It was great to see a familiar face from home and the kids enjoyed having a new friend to play with.  We hope to see Lisa on PEI when she comes home in the latter part of the summer.
Andrea, Natalie, Anthony and David

Francois spent some time cleaning out our van and reorganizing our things.  It is amazing how much stuff we gathered in such a short amount of time.  Vander enjoyed helping Francois get the cleaning supplies ready and Everett liked exploring the interior of the van.

In the afternoon while the boys had their nap we walked down to the outdoor pool.  The water was a little cold, but the kids still jumped into the pool.  They loved the diving board and jumped off many times trying to improve on their jumping antics.

Next we went to the local library, which is a favorite hang-out of ours on the trip.  We found a lot of used books for Natalie to read for the next portion of our trip.  It is the greatest place to buy used books - 50 cents a book, you can't beat the price.

In the evening the kids and I watched Aladdin with Auntie Paige.  I am not sure who enjoyed the movie more Auntie Paige or the children.  Auntie Paige was singing along with the songs and even quoting the movie too - she says she loves all the Disney movies.

Auntie Paige with all the kids...she looks so natural
Do you think Uncle Pierre shops at Costco?
Francois and Pierre went to play basketball.  Pierre is on a team that plays on night a week and tonight was game night.  Francois went to watch, but ended up playing in the game.
