Much Needed Down Time

Since we arrived in Sherwood Park it has been wonderful hanging out with our family and enjoying the comforts of a home. Francois has been busy cooking and baking.  I have been doings lots of laundry and trying to reorganize the kids kitbags.   The kids have been enjoying their time playing with Diesel and they love having their own hairstylist as Auntie Joyce has been doing all three of their hair every morning.

David enjoys hanging out with his cousins.
Yesterday the kids slept in and were in a better mood than we expected.  After lunch we headed to the local library and what an amazing place.  There was large selection of chapter books for Natalie's level and I liked how they were organized by series which gave us an opportunity to find new types of books to read.  Andrea and David don't enjoy looking at books too long, but they always manage to find the computer so they can play some games.  Joyce also let us use her library card so we could take some books out while we were visiting.

We also took the kids to a local park and the trails system in this city is AMAZING.  All the neighborhoods have trails and there is no need to be travelling on the sidewalks near busy areas.  It gave David the freedom to run as far as he could and then wait for us to catch up.

Francois and Joyce
Francois made supper for the Allain crew and Joyce and Rodney's friends, Glenna and Sheldon joined us.  Francois was grateful to have a large BBQ to cook on and he served up a delicious meal.  After supper - the little kids watched a few movies, the bigger kids played Scattegories and the adults played crib.   Let's just say Rodney enjoys winning a little too much.

Today Francois and I went for another early morning run - the trail we chose today was so hilly that my legs had a good workout.  Francois has an eye for spotting different things along our run, I was too busy looking at the pavement to see the beauty around me.  He saw two ducks playing in the water and what we think was a really large pelican.

Rodney and Francois are going golfing with Sheldon and his son Ken.  We are heading to church and then hope to hit the West Edmonton Mall later today.  We have been told that we should see this place at least once.  It should be interesting as it has a water park and an ice rink plus all the different stores.

Joyce is making a turkey dinner for tonight, a final supper before we head out tomorrow and make our way to Jasper National Park.  The time spent in Sherwood Park was great to help regenerate our bodies for the next journey of the day.

Take Care
Tanya
