An Extra Day In Sherwood Park

Natalie at the WEM in front of the Pirate Ship
Yesterday afternoon we spent some time at the West Edmonton Mall which was really neat to see.  We got a chance to see the Sea Lion show which was interesting.  After returning from the Mall we went back to  Rodney and Joyce's for a lovely turkey dinner, was it ever good.

Last evening we got the kids to bed early in anticipation of our departure today and then we hung out in the living room chatting about life in PEI and Alberta.  I got up early this morning because we needed to get some work on our fuel line of the van as there was a small drip that was starting.  The technician told me it would take an hour or so and then five minutes later he came back and said that part was discontinued and it would be a couple of days to get the part made.

I got a drive back to the house and when the kids woke up we made our plan for the day.  No sense getting worked up about a small van repair since we were on vacation.  We put our gear on and headed to the park for the morning. The parks are great places for the kids to play with new children.  Every time we go to a park they make some new friends and learn some different games.

After the park, we had lunch and then Marissa joined us and we went to the pool.  It was an awesome pool with a 1M and 3M diving board, a tarzan rope, a large slide and hot tub.  We had lots of fun and the place was packed.  After the pool we dropped the girls off to the library and David and I headed back to the house.  After we arrived, we got a message that the van was ready and that the technician was able to repair the fuel line by using some couplings and a piece of fuel line he had.  We are very thankful for his work.

The plan is that we will stay in Sherwood Park tonight and then head out on the road tomorrow.  We are looking forward to seeing Jasper and Banff and all the beauty of the Rockies.  The Hot Springs, beautiful lakes and picturesque landscapes are a few of the things on the list.

Tonight we are hanging out with the Allain clan and chatting and are very thankful for the great hospitality they've shown us while we are here.  It was great to spend some time visiting with them.  The kids loved Joyce styling their hair and enjoyed picking at Uncle Rodney.  The cousins were also very good with the kids.  We'll certainly miss them all when we hit the road.
